About Georgia's Lake Country

Because of the growth and potential of the Lake Oconee Area, the respective leaders of the Chambers of Commerce of Greene, Morgan and Putnam Counties; Convention and Visitors Bureau of Madison; the Better Hometown cities of Greensboro and Eatonton and the Main Street City of Madison have formed a cooperative marketing alliance called "Georgia's Lake Country." On August 5, 1999, the respective directors and managers of this alliance met to form an executive committee in order to market the Lake Oconee area together.

In 2006, Milledgeville-Baldwin County/Lake Sinclair became a member of Georgia’s Lake Country.

The mission of Georgia's Lake Country is to promote and market the Lake Oconee and Lake Sinclair region as a world class destination.
